LIGUORI CATHERINE CUMMINGS, 100, of Davison and Lapeer, died Saturday, August 6, 2022 at her residence. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Pastor Rodney Sanderson-Smith officiating: with burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. Sunday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

Liguori was born in Mt. Morris Michigan on April 28, 1922 the daughter of Glen T and Grace Mae (Montmey) Mason, spending most of her life in the Davison-Lapeer area, and her retirement years in Florida. She was joined in marriage to Willis J. “Bill” Cummings on July 27, 1946 in Angola, Indiana spending 68 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death on September 21, 2014. She was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School Class of 1940. She was a member of VFW Post 4087 Auxiliary, and was a member of the Davison Country Club, and served as secretary for the Riverland Condo Association in Florida which her and husband Bill lived. Liguori enjoyed music and loved to dance. She had a natural ability to decorate, having won the Davison Light Contest in 1955 and continued the tradition for many years.

Liguori began her employment for General Motors AC Division in 1942 making machine guns during the war years. She later returned to General Motors in 1950, continuing her career and becoming the first women packaging engineer at AC Spark Plug before her retirement.

She leaves to cherish her memory; son, Craig and wife Karen Cummings, and daughter, Cathryn and husband Bob McAley. She also leavers her loving grandchildren, Stacie (Jay) Fenslau, Shad (Lisa) McAley, Craig (Alicia) Cummings, Autumn (Dan) Hanson, Benjamin (Teresa) Cummings, Patrick (Amanda) Cummings, Colleen Cummings (Patrick Jaszczolt), and 17 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
